Privacy Policy

What we collect when you book a car with Drivenet, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. In short: we collect only what a rental needs, we share it with nobody beyond the services that run this site, and we never sell it.

1.Who We Are

  • Drivenet Car Rentals is a car rental company based in Larnaca, Cyprus, operating the website drivenet.com.cy. The same booking service is also offered through our partner site thebestcyprus.com.

2.What We Collect

  • Booking details: your name, email address, phone number, pickup and return dates, times and locations, delivery address where applicable, flight number if you provide one, and your driver age confirmation.
  • Driver details for your rental agreement: your date of birth, and if you choose to provide them, your driving licence number with its issue and expiry dates, your passport number and your home address. Giving these at booking lets us prepare your rental agreement in advance so collecting the car is quicker.
  • Payment card details, provided at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
  • Conversations with the website's chat assistant, which are logged so we can review and improve the quality of its answers.
  • Anonymous usage statistics, such as which pages are visited. These are measured without cookies and without storing anything that identifies you personally.

3.How We Handle Card Details

  • Your card details are encrypted before storage and are never included in emails or logs.
  • The card guarantees your reservation. Any payment is processed at our rental desk on a bank card terminal.
  • Once the rental is settled, stored card details are removed from our system.

4.How We Use Your Data

  • To process and manage your booking, including sending you the booking request receipt, the booking confirmation and your rental voucher by email.
  • To alert our own staff about upcoming pickups so your car is ready on time.
  • To respond when you contact us.
  • We do not use your data for advertising, we do not send marketing emails, and we never sell your data.

5.Who We Share It With

  • Like most modern websites, we rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate this site and deliver your rental: website hosting, our booking database, email delivery, the map and address search on the booking page, internal staff alerts and the chat assistant. They act on our instructions, receive only the minimum needed to do their job, and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
  • Our booking database is hosted inside the European Union.
  • Bookings made through thebestcyprus.com are additionally visible to that site's operating partner for settlement purposes.
  • We do not share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.

6.Cookies & Browser Storage

  • The website sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie consent banner.
  • Your booking selections, your language choice and your chat conversation are kept in your own browser's storage. This data stays on your device.
  • A login cookie is used only by our staff to access the administration area.

7.How Long We Keep It

  • Booking records are kept for as long as needed for our business and legal obligations, such as accounting.
  • Stored card details are removed once the rental is settled or the booking is cancelled.
  • Chat assistant logs are kept only for quality review.

8.Your Rights

  • Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how it is used.
  • To exercise any of these rights, email info@drivenet.com.cy. We respond within one month.
  • If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus.

9.Changes to This Policy

  • If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page. The version you see here is always the current one.
